HAUS is a converted 1920’s bungalow, with gallery space in what used to be the living room, dining room, hallway, bedroom, and bathroom. Using all of these available areas I re-created the atmosphere of a “Ladies Lounge” which reflects the attitudes of fictional female characters throughout the ages. The installation incorporated window treatments, a “comma couch,” etched mirrors with gold, silver, copper leafing, etched glass, vanities with personal objects (relics) and fabric used as panels and drapery as well as other “Lounge” accoutrements. All items were made to fit the space. |
